We warmly thank you for all the lovely messages of support we've been receiving throughout these difficult times and we would also like to express our warmest appreciation and gratitude for Royal Mail and the courier staff for maintaining deliveries and enabling us to keep shipping and receiving deliveries.
Thank you so much to everyone of our customers who has placed an order with us over the past few weeks. We are currently dispatching most orders within 24 hours and we are working extremely hard to deliver our parcels to you as quickly as possible, whilst also protecting the health of our team.
We’re are still experiencing some delivery delays in certain parts of the world as the Royal Mail themselves are under huge pressure due to an increase in volume, so please allow extra time for our parcels to reach you. We ask for your patience.
Our Customer Service team is receiving a huge volume of queries and to help us offer the best service we can, we ask you to contact us directly via email on firstname.lastname@example.org. We politely ask you not to send multiple emails with the same inquiry as we are working through them in date order and this will move them to the back of the queue (as they will be grouped together with the most recent email). We’re prioritising emails about orders, but our team are working really hard to reply to everyone as quickly as possible.
We are always extremely grateful for your custom and we would like to say a HUGE THANK YOU to everyone who has placed an order with us and supported Minerva.
We know that for many of us, sewing and making provides an important lifeline and now, more than ever, we need to continue sharing positive craft experiences. We stand ready to serve, and hope that our website and social channels can be a source of support, inspiration and joy.
Thank you for your continued loyalty, particularly during these uncertain times. We hope you will find solace in your sewing and distraction from worrying thoughts.
Stay safe and well and thank you for your support.
The Minerva Team.

We would like to reassure our customers that we are still operating but please expect delays. We ask for your patience in these uncertain times.
The health and safety of our customers, team members and wider community is our top priority. We have several members of staff off because they are high risk or because of school closures, so we are operating with a skeleton staff.
Please bear with us as we cut your fabrics and pick and pack your orders, we are currently aiming to dispatch your order within 5-10 days. We will endeavour to resume our usual speedy service as soon as possible, whilst keeping everyone safe.
We’re also experiencing some delivery delays as the Royal Mail themselves are under huge pressure due to an increase in volume, so please allow extra time for our parcels to reach you. Please allow 10 working days (20 working days if you are outside of the UK) from the date of despatch, for your parcel to arrive before contacting us.
We are still shipping worldwide to most countries but please allow extra time for your orders to arrive once you have received a dispatch email.
Our Customer Service team is totally inundated. Please only contact us via email at email@example.com to help us respond to you as soon as possible. We’re prioritising emails about orders, but our team are working really hard to reply to each and every one of you, so please be patient with us during this unprecedented time. We ask you not to send multiple emails with the same inquiry as we are working through them in date order and this will move them to the back of the queue (as they will be grouped together with the most recent email).
We are always extremely grateful for your custom, now more than ever in these uncertain times. We would like to say a HUGE THANK YOU to everyone who has placed an order with us.

Just a quick update to let you know our opening times over Christmas and New Year and when the last posting dates are to receive your parcel before Christmas.
Last Posting Dates for UK Shipping:
For RM48/economy shipping we recommend ordering no later than 3pm Monday 18th.
For RM24/priority shipping we recommend ordering no later than 3pm Wednesday 20th.
If you desperately need something before Christmas we would highly recommend our tracked courier service. For this option we recommend ordering no later than 3pm Thursday 21st.
Last Posting Dates for International Shipping:
For delivery to Europe we recommend ordering no later than 3pm Wednesday 13th.
For delivery to the Rest of the World we recommend ordering no later than 3pm Friday the 8th.
Please note, these dates are Royal Mail's advised last posting dates, we cannot guarantee delivery before Christmas. If you order later than these dates we will still do our utmost to try and get your parcel to you before Christmas, but the Royal Mail are so busy this time of year and once we have passed your parcel to them, the delivery time is in the hands of the Royal Mail or courier.
On the run up to Christmas we are open until 5pm Saturday the 23rd.
We are closed for Christmas day and Boxing day (although you can still place orders on our website as normal) and we are back open to dispatch your orders from Wednesday the 27th until Saturday the 30th.
For New Year we are closed on New Years Day and then back open as normal from January Tuesday the 2nd onwards.
From all of us at Minerva Crafts, we would like to say a HUGE thank you to all of our customers of 2017. Thank you for all your support this year. We wish you a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!
Vicki & the Minerva Team!

Today we bring you news of a new chapter for Minerva Crafts. It is a family business run by myself (Vicki) and my mum and dad, (Annette and Phil), and the three of us have worked together in the business since I was 8 years old.
As some of you will know, Minerva Crafts not only sell online, we also have a physical retail shop called the 'Minerva Craft Centre' at our base in Darwen, Lancashire, which is attached to our warehouse. The shop has been very successful for us and we are very proud to have won 3 awards for it over the last 5 years. It is my mum Annette who has run the "bricks and mortar" side of the business for us, with a fantastic team of staff, whereas my dad and I look after the "online" side of the business.
My mum decided a year ago, after working 6/7 days a week for as long as I can remember, to take a bit more time away from work and spend a few days a week looking after the newest addition to our family - her grand-daughter, baby Emily - whom we all adore. We all feel really happy about my mum doing this, as it is definitely the best thing personally for her to do right now.
With my mum now working less hours, we have been faced with a decision about what to do with the managing of the shop. Our shop and the online side of the business run completely separately from each other and are very different (even though they sell the same products!). Our shop is huge and it takes a huge amount of resources in both time and money to keep it running. For about a year now we have been running it with my mum only working part time and we have definitely felt the strain. We have known for some time now that something had to give.
We do feel, very strongly, that we wish to remain a family run company with us at the heart of it. It just wouldn't be the same for us to run the shop with anyone else other than my mum. We also face the same struggles that many shops do nowadays, with increased costs at every turn, and the shop would struggle to support a bigger team of staff than it does currently. We have, therefore, finally come to a decision and decided to close our shop. This has not been, in any way, an easy decision for us, and we have been considering the idea - toying backwards and forwards for a long time now - to make sure we are making the right decision.
We are sincerely sorry to every customer who only shops with us in our physical shop - we are sure there will be many of you who will be very disappointed to see the shop close. We hope that you will understand our decision in this rapidly changing world, and we hope you will continue to support us in our new chapter.
On a positive note, we are very much looking to the future here at Minerva HQ. We are looking forward to being able to fully concentrate on the online side of our business which we absolutely love. We can put our full efforts and energies into our website and serving our amazing customers all over the world. The shop space will be fully utilised for more warehousing, which will allow us to introduce even more beautiful products to our range on the website. Also, our fantastic team of staff in the shop are all fully trained in the warehouse too, so nobody will be leaving us.
My mum is really looking forward to now being able to spend more time sewing and making things with all our beautiful products. Her role at Minerva will, of course, change and now she will be able to focus on writing informative and inspirational posts for the Minerva Crafts blog. My mum has been a dressmaker and crafter all her life and has so much inspiration and knowledge to share, I am sure you are going to love all of her ideas!
It will be a very sad day for us to see the shop close, but we are all fully embracing this new chapter here at Minerva. We can only apologise again to everyone who will miss being able to use our shop and we hope that you will understand our desicion and will continue to support us in the future.
If you prefer to talk to someone rather than shop online, you will be able to place an order with us over the telephone on 01254 708068. You will also be able to arrange to collect your parcel from us if you live locally. This allows you to view over 100,000 products that we now sell! This would never have been possible just by visiting the shop.
We plan to close the shop on the 27th of August 2017, so our last day of trading will be Saturday the 26th of August. For any of our customers who are Minerva Craft Club members, and who only purchase from us in the shop - please pop in with your card between now and then, if you wish to cancel your subscription. A refund will be made for the remainder of the period.
Thank you for reading and for your continued support over the years,
Vicki, Annette and Phil

Hi De Hi!
June is Indie Pattern Month over at The Monthly Stitch
(check it out, it's good!) so what a fantastic time to showcase our lovely friends who produce the Eliza M Patterns
! They've brought out a few new patterns recently and used our fabrics to show case them!
First off the bat (and my personal favourite I think) is the Audrey Dress
. Featuring a wide Boat Neckline, a low V back and a wooshy skirt (yes that is the technical term) this is a true vintage gem!
For this image they have featured our Sea Blue Floral Stripe Print Rayon Satin
and they couldn't have chosen a more perfect fabric. The way the print flows down the dress is perfect and the weight of the fabric is just right for sitting over the netted petticoat.
It's very easy to imagine a dress like this in a polka dot cotton, so to see this made in a satin is truly inspiring.
Next in line is the Betty Dress
! An obvious favourite of mine, the Betty features a halter neck with nautical-esq collar detailing. Another full circle skirt so you can swoosh the night away!
Think gingham is just for young girls? Think polycotton is just for tablecloths? No and no! Our everyday 1 Inch Gingham Polycotton
at a pocket friendly £3.99 p/m in Royal Blue is this feature fabric. Honest! Lightweight and crisp, this fabric is perfect for this kind of dress. Just screams Daytime cocktails, doesn't it? Plus, it won't crease that badly so you can carry it on through to the night.
It's also available in a ba-jillion colours! (well...15)
I love this fabric choice, too. Perfect for a chilly British autumn
A certain A/W 2015 staple in the Katie Betty Wardrobe.
It's always fun to see pattern such as these sewn up in different fabrics, I find it helps inspire you and aids you in thinking out of the box so you can make something truly yours and not just as it is on the pattern packet! Have you had any pattern revelations recently?

Exciting News! We have teamed up with the fabulous ladies behind the scenes at Sew Print UK who design the gorgeous range of Vintage Style Sewing Patterns
Claire the designer and Rachel (the gorgeous model in these photographs) choose some beautiful fabrics from our website to make a selection of their patterns to shoot this fabulous collection of images. I think you will agree they are rather stunning!
Sticking with dresses, next up is the gorgeous Audrey dress pattern
. How lovely would it be to have a pattern named after you? If they bring out a Vicki or Victoria pattern I think I would have to have a go if it was my sort of style! The Audrey pattern has been made up in our red polka dot stretch cotton fabric
, which also comes in black
- such classic colours for this style.
Next up is the very pretty Daisy Dress pattern
. I know this pattern is a real favourite with lots of our customers. I can see why - it is so pretty and feminie, I think it really captures the 'Vintage Vibe'. In fact if you are a shopper at Minerva Crafts you might have met Claire at the Minerva Crafts Meet Up
event last year when she was kindly demonstrating some of her patterns for us. Claire made this up in our red floral print stretch cotton fabric
(unfortunately now out of stock but you can find similar floral stretch cotton
), which also comes in black, denim blue, and ivory (again, unfortunately now out of stock but we have a wide range of stretch cotton
And next for something a little different, but still with a vintage theme we have the Hop & Swing Pants pattern
teamed with the Gypsy Jane Top pattern
. The pants are made from our 7.5oz denim fabric
in indigo blue (also available in black
) and the top is made from our red gingham fabric
! This gingham comes in 17 colours so there is plenty of colour choice and at just £2.99 per metre you could make this top for very little.
We were really excited to be involved in this collaboration and since then have supplied more fabrics for their new collection of patterns being launched soon. As soon as they become available we will have them in stock and will be sharing more of these gorgeous images so please watch this space! I think these images look absolutely amazing and are a huge credit to Claire and Rachel.
If you have created any of your own Eliza M creations please send us some pictures through on our facebook
, I would love to see them!
