Prada Crepe Dress by Sylvia

I am so thrilled to be writing this post about Minerva Crafts’ simply divine Prada self-lined stretch Crepe Fabric. I honestly do not think I can rave about this fabric enough but I am going to try to review my experience with this beauty.
When I got this fabric, I could not stop touching it. It felt so good and had the perfect drape. To make this even better, it has a matte and shiny side and either side (or both sides) can be used I brainstormed for days on what to make with this because I wanted the ‘drapey’ nature of this fabric to shine through.
I decided to make a simple dress with a half circle skirt to make show off the gorgeous drape. I used McCalls Pattern 7602 for the bodice and made the half circle skirt using the calculator method. The bodice is a close fitting mock wrap top. I think I could have gone down a size for the bodice and bust cup to get an even better fit and I plan to adjust it a little soon. I used the shiny side for this dress to give it a fancier look but the matte side is equally as beautiful.
I threw this in the washer (tap cold) and dryer when I received it and it sustained only minor wrinkles, which was another plus. The fabric is great with my steamer.
Considering how gorgeous and fancy this fabric was, it sewed up like a dream! I say this because most ‘fancy’ fabrics I have worked with are a pain to sew up and need extra precautions to ensure it doesn’t pucker, overstretch, etc but not this Prada Crepe Fabric. This is one of the reasons why I have fallen hard for this Prada crepe. Simply change our needle before starting your project and you will have no issues. Also, if you are looking for an anti-static fabric, this is it!
Thank you Minerva for giving me this opportunity to work with this quality fabric. Now I need to find a fancy event to wear it to! I hope you enjoyed my review. If you have worked with this fabric or plan to do so, let me know what you think.
Have a great day!
