Easy Casual Nora Jumper
Posted on Friday the 14th June 2019 by Jessalli Handmade
So I’ve gone back to building my staple wardrobe pieces. I really needed a casual grey jumper, just a throw-on number for layering. I have a really old shop-bought one that I wear to death, but thought a handmade addition would be better.
I used the Nora Jumper Pattern by Tilly and the Buttons
. I used the small neckband and longer boxy body shape. I did make a slight modification to the sleeves, as I added cuffs to the long original sleeve shape. It was a little tricky and I did have to taper in the angle of the original sleeves slightly to fit it better. It’s not the neatest cuffs I’ve ever done, but it works.
The fabric I used was the Lady McElroy French Terry Fabric
in Grey. It’s so lightweight and soft, I adore it. The loop back texture on the inside is soft and not clingy at all.
Again another quick make for me this month. The Nora Jumper only took me an afternoon. It’s an easy to use pattern and you only need your bust measurements really. The boxy shape is very flattering, I love the way it looks and I know I’ll wear this on a weekly basis. It’s just so easy to layer, in these in between weather days.
So my summary; The Nora pattern is a must-have easy clothing item to have in your stash. It’s so versatile and easy to sew up quickly. The loop back fabric is just the perfect all-season fabric. And you know how much I love a soft, cosy feel.
I hope you like what I made for this months post. I promise to start adding a bit more colour to my wardrobe!!
Happy Handmade everyone!
