Hello all!

This months #MinervaMake is a very fun pair of trousers. Slightly clown-like perhaps, but fun nonetheless.

I used a basic straight legged big four trouser pattern and cropped them slightly as seems to be the vogue nowadays.

The Dressmaking Fabric is a viscose that feels lovely against the skin and is heavy enough that it works for trousers, but light enough that they will keep me perfectly cool for summer.

The original plan was to make a jumpsuit but when I'd put the trousers together I thought that there was enough print there, without any more being added, so I kept them as is. However, I'm playing around with the idea of making a matching crop top with the left over fabric.

I tried my best to print match the centre front and side seams. These efforts meant that the centre back and inside leg seems weren't going to match, but I was happy to make that sacrifice.

I gave them quite a deep hem so that the weight of it would help them hang properly. The only alteration I made to them was to take in the side seams slightly.

All in all these trousers turned out really well, and I can't wait to wear them when the weather finally warms up a bit. What I need to make next is a series of brightly coloured tank tops to match!

Thanks for reading, to Minerva Crafts for providing the supplies for this project and to Bethan and MK for photo taking!
