I have loved this make, so much that I made another four pairs and they are my go to lounge wear as soon as I get home from work. I wear them with a Linden sweatshirt and they are so cosy and comfy.

This is the Hudson Pants by True bias. A wonderful pattern and such a lovely make. I used this beautiful Atelier Brunette French Terry Fabric – such gorgeousness - deep dark navy with gold flecks. It was a delight to sew with and is super soft and cosy to wear, real luxury.

The construction is very straightforward. I particularly like the edging to the pockets and the ankle cuffs which keep the warmth inside.

The pocket bands look very neat and the waistband neatly encloses the edges of the pocket.

I used my overlocker to sew most of these Hudsons, making sure I increased the differential feed to prevent stretching.

I used two inch elastic as suggested but found this quite tricky to stretch and attach to the waistband so for future pairs I have used two pieces of one inch elastic instead which sits much neater in my opinion. I also omitted the cord as I felt this was superfluous of my needs and saves having to create two button holes.

They are a perfect length and generous enough in fit to be slouchy and comfy. I made a size 12 but have noticed in blogs and Instagram images that most people are wearing them snugger than mine so I may size down in future.

You’ll see here that I am wearing them with a spotty Linden, currently my favourite combo.

Fantastic pattern, I recommend it. There is also a child’s and men’s version of it – perfect for Christmas gifts maybe.

And this Fabric is totally gorgeous and well worth the price tag. I am a firm believer that you get what you pay for …. These Hudsons have been laundered several times and still look as good as new. They will be worn for years.

Lounging and loungewear just got better, ready for winter.

Happy sewing!
