Jumpsuit Love: New Look 6373

As the weather teases us with the promise of a sunny season ahead - I turned my mind to sewing for summer with this jumpsuit.
New Look Pattern 6373 has been on my sewing radar for almost 2 years now but I never seemed to quite find the right fabric for it. Scrolling through the Minerva Crepe Fabric section I literally stumbled across this gem of a fabric. Cobalt blue with white flowers that have a black outline - it was perfect.
The fabric has lovely drape and handle to it. Being a crepe it is easy care - something I need given my busy lifestyle (who wants to spend time ironing in summer?).
Sewing with it was straightforward and I thought the pattern instructions were very good. I added in seam pockets to the trouser part. This is easily done by using a pocket pattern piece from any other sewing pattern and placing them where you prefer.
I plan on making it again and the only other change will be that I will double face the flounce. Sewing a baby hem on a bias cut edge was tedious. Apart from that it's a pattern that even a beginner could tackle.
For the pattern I cut out the size 10 based on the finished garment measurements. I am very pleased with how this turned out - just the right amount of blouson effect for me. The elastic I used feels very comfortable even after hours of wear.
It's a beautiful eye-catching easy to throw on outfit. I love jumpsuits - Simple. Easy. Casual. Can't wait for summer to come along!
Until next time, Happy Sewing!
