If you haven't yet heard about this event, then to sum it up, it is a day celebrating the success of the Minerva Crafts Blogger Network. A day bringing crafty people together to have a fun, with lots of free activities & refreshments throughout the course of the day including workshops, demonstrations, competitions, a crafty quiz and more! Absolutely everybody is welcome to come along whether it be for the full day or just an hour or two. And its completely free, no tickets required, just turn up on the day!

I would like to take this opportunity to say a big thank you to all the bloggers on the network who have been so supportive of the day, especially to everyone who is coming along on the day. For all of our readers and customers it will be a fantastic chance for you to meet the people behind all these wonderful posts on the blogger network.

And now we can reveal a little secret! Over the past few months we at Minerva and the bloggers on the network have been planning a secret project to reveal on the night of the meet up event. As many of the bloggers are travelling so far to come to this event (especially Maria all the way from Australia!), and for all their hard work they put into each and every post, we a Minerva are saying a big thankyou and treating them all to dinner where we can dress up in fancy dresses!

Fancy dresses you say? Yes...very fancy, and of course we have all made our own! All the bloggers and us here at Minerva who have made outfits for the occasion are going to reveal the dresses and garments we have made on the night via social media. So make sure to check out our facebook and twitter pages to see each outfit revealed! Or why not join in share pictures of hand made garments you are wearing that night too. We are using hashtag #MinervaMeetUpReveal on twitter, so please come and join in the fun!

We have each decided to share just a snippit, a work in progress, a 'teaser post' so to speak, of each outfit over the next couple of weeks before the big day with you. I will start by showing you mine...

I decided to go full out and make a fully sequinned number. Having never worked with a sequinned fabric like this before (its completely covered in sequins on a mesh base) I was perhaps getting ahead of myself. Here's the fabric ive used...

I've never been one to let anything stop me when it comes to trying new fabrics or sewing technqiues, so I jumped in with both feet and I must say its turned out really well. Just how I imagined it would. You can see just a couple of snippets of the dress in progress from the photos below and I will be sharing lots of pictures of the finished thing on Saturday night 14th June.
