I knew as soon as I came across the line of fabrics called Paisley Please Fabric on the Minerva Crafts website that I had to have them. I've always been a fan of paisley, but there's something so bright and cheery about this whole line.

I love that these have a slight metallic to them. The line seems very modern but with a classic flare. And the colours are so vivid. Purple is my favourite, but the accent colours tone it down nicely.

Right away I knew when I got these fabrics they were destined for a quilt. The cotton just has such a wonderful soft drape to it. But it took me quite a while to settle on what style and pattern to use.

As I looked at different ideas, I kept coming back to the log cabin quilt block. It's one that I had been asked to do several times in the #moderninstabee that I've been participating in all year long.

I'm really happy I chose this block. I think it compliments the modern but classic line of the fabrics really nicely. And this pattern allows all the colours to really play off one another.

All things considering, this quilt top came together relatively quickly. The blocks are almost 11 inches wide and high.

And at four blocks wide and five blocks in length, this is my largest quilt top to-date.

Now to figure out how to quilt it and what backing/binding to use. Suggestions are always welcome!
