Hi pinups! Time for another make, and I couldn't wait to share this one with you! So much so, I bumped it up from my original August schedule to July instead. I've posted lots of snaps on my social media and it even got it's own video. It is of course the Retro Butterick B5748 Dress Pattern  from 1960.

Here's a peek at the pattern:

I often like to browse Minerva Craft's 'New In' section, I'm always on the look out for a Vintage Style Fabric to use for some lovely summer dresses. When I saw the gorgeous Blue Roses Sateen Fabric I just had to have it! It's fancier than what I would usually select as I just don't have occasions to wear such dresses, but lucky for me I had a family wedding around the corner! I scrapped the original plans I had for my wedding guest dress and snapped up this stunning fabric.

As the fabric really is a stunner, I knew I wanted to select a simple pattern, something with few style lines so the fabric could do all the talking. The Retro Butterick B5748 pattern is a dress I've wanted to sew for a while now, and I knew this could be a dream combination.

The circle skirt and simple darted bodice, really showed off the fabric's beautiful print and I couldn't be happier about the final impact. I found the pattern nice and simple to follow along with and having fabric with some stretch in meant I could get away without doing a full bust adjustment.
