I’m back! Did you miss me? Did you even notice I was gone? LOL I needed to take a little break because sometimes life gets in the way of sewing. I started a new job (yay!) and I’ve been trying adjust to having an office job. That being said, my new job requires me to wear business/business casual clothing – so this make was perfect! This is the Sewaholic Granville Sewing Pattern.

I made this a few months back but it took me forever to actually finish it. My measurements at the time were 36-31-40, according to Sewaholic I should be bust 8/10, waist 10/12 and hips 8. I ended up making size 6 and view A. The only alteration I made was adding 1/2" to the sleeves.

I have a love/hate relationship with this pattern. This is the second one I’ve made and although I love the pattern and the end result – I HATE MAKING IT. I won’t lie, there are just way too many steps and I screwed things up. I topstitched in the wrong place on the front, I don’t even know how but I guess I just wasn’t paying attention. I should have figured out the pattern placement a little better for the front placket too. On my muslin I put the buttons on the wrong side of the front!

The instructions are great and the little details really make this pattern amazing. I liked how the cuffs came together but the collar is a little hard. I do recommend it and think it’s well drafted, but not for beginners. I love that the shirt is form fitting and flattering. I wear this often an am very proud of it. The fabric is a Cotton Poplin Fabric and is super easy to sew with and irons up very well – and of course I love anything black and white. Highly recommended.
