Winter Neck and Ear Warmer Set

Happy New Year everyone! I am excited to start of this year with a new pattern for the Minerva craft bloggers network. I really enjoy my posts, and I hope you like them as well!

This month’s pattern is a great set. It’s a neck warmer and ear warmer that uses this really great and unique chunky yarn. The pattern for both is simple because when I was swatching the yarn, the chunkiness and the unique texture really stood out on it’s own for me. That’s why I chose to make a simple pattern but because the yarn is so cool it looks more impressive.

Hope You Love!

The Neck Warmer Pattern

I chose to just do a simple stockinette stitch in the round because the texture of the yarn is really expressed.

Cast on 50, join in the round.

Knit each stitch around. Continue this pattern until piece measures 25 cm uncurled.

Bind off using a stretchy bind off and voila! You have our perfect cowl.

The Ear Warmer Pattern

This ear warmer is an easy pattern, your basic garter stitch, but the twisted bow in the middle really takes it up a notch. I see these types of ear warmers in high end stores that cost way more than they should!

Cast on 12 stitches

Row 1: Knit in each stitch across.

Continue this garter stitch sequence until piece measures 20cm. Now we can create the twisted bow, and for this you will need your cable needle.

Slip first 6 stitches onto cable, hold cable needle in front. Knit last 6 stiches, and then knit the 6 stitches off of the cable needle

Continue with garter stitch until piece measures 40 cm, or fits comfortable around your head. Bind off, sew together and weave in any loose ends.
